Hi there! Welcome! Bienvenue! Willkommen!
I’m a Canadian wine enthusiast who recently made the plunge into professional wine studies and employment. Cheers to that!
My journey into wine began in 2008 when, on a lonely Valentine’s Day, my brother and sister-in-law kindly invited me to join them on a weekend-long wine tasting in Niagara. One tasting event became two, two became three, and over the years I gained insight into the wonderful world of wine. Ever since then, my interest in wine (and pride for Niagara wine) has grown.

I moved to Germany in 2013 to be with my (wonderfully supportive) husband. As luck would have it, we ended up in the wine-rich Rheingau area of Germany. Weekend trips to local wineries became tradition. A long-weekend in Champagne doable. The wealth of information and tasting materials became too much to ignore, so I bought myself some books, found myself an internship, applied to the local university wine programme, and bought an extra wine fridge.
From the grapes in the vineyards, to the chemistry in the cellar, to the lectures at university – if you want to learn a thing or two about the world of wine from the very beginning, tag along this grand adventure with me!
